The City of Vancouver invites artists to expand their art practice into the public realm and propose new artworks envisioned for sites in Vancouver at any scale. Proposed artworks should contemplate the city, its defining features, spaces and neighbourhoods.
Artists have the chance to create public art outside of constraints of site, theme or medium, allowing for explorations of all parts of the city. Emerging or established artists may propose works in a range of mediums including, but not limited to:
- built form,
- two-dimensional work,
- socially engaged practices,
- short-term and permanent sculptural installations.
All commissions are for new work only. Existing work will not be considered.
Eligible applicants are professional artists that connect to or live in Vancouver.
