Affordable art in our city.

Vancouver, BC: Between November 22 – 27, 2016, the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) on Granville Island will give avid art collectors and new-to-the-market types, an opportunity to purchase original artworks for the affordable price of $150.

“Ten Squared” features over 100 artworks all sized 10” x 10” from Canadian and international artists. Artworks are a variety of subject matter, mediums and styles, quite literally something for everyone. There are no reproductions and no giclée here. Only raw pigment, brushstrokes, blood, sweat and tears.

Active FCA Member, Caroline Dahlmanns

“Ten Squared is the exhibition that got me involved with the Federation, back in 2015”, says Caroline Dahlmanns, member artist and fellow Vancouverite. Since then she’s enjoyed repeated success with the organization, including demonstration and exhibition opportunities, as well as artwork sales.

Often we deny ourselves the opportunity to claim an artwork that caught out attention because we can’t justify the expense. Yet we’re prepared to spend hundreds on restaurant meals, nights out, daily lattes, translink fares and mobi subscriptions (okay well maybe we need those last two…three).

Do yourself a favour and instead, invest in something you can enjoy often, repeatedly, daily even.

Take that hot yoga.

Located at 1241 Cartwright Street on Granville Island, opposite the Granville Island Hotel, the exhibition will open doors to the public on Tuesday 22nd November at 10 AM. As past visitors know, pieces go fast, so get there early.

A portion of all sales from the exhibition assists the FCA as a non-profit charity in continuing to provide and improve the services and programming they offer to emerging artists, established artists and the public. So while buying your own property in Vancouver may be a far-off distant dream, you can at least afford to buy original art, all while supporting a local non-profit.

An opening event attended by some of the featured artists is scheduled for Tuesday November 22nd from 6 – 8 PM. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP with your guest’s full names to by November 10th. Learn more at
