WE Arts Society is pleased to announce the Weekly West End Art Market in the soon to be completed Jim Deva Plaza at Davie St and Bute St, in Vancouver’s West End.

The Event: Vancouver’s West End is home to many artists, our city and region is full of creative folk. This new local art market is designed to showcase and sell local arts, becoming a regular feature for the West End.

In the last 2 years, two trial markets surprised locals and were well received, with limited publicity. Establishing a weekly art market not only delivers on the number one priority of the recent Art Plan Vision for the West End, providing a fun vibrant venue for artists show and sell there work, it also provides animation and connection for our diverse local community, attracting local and visiting arts fans to the neighborhood.

Artists: local artists are invited to submit applications for the market, we expect tented tables and a small stage. Please provide your contact number, email, where you live and a pdf of your work

Applications are not limited to West End Artists, both emerging and established artists are welcome from the region, priority will be given to those artists demonstrating the ability to package and sell their work. Don’t be shy, if you are tempted and not sure, apply, you never know what will sell unless you try.

Performers: The weekly art market will include live performances and demonstrations of art and artists of all genres. Please feel free to submit your suggestions to

The Organization: WE Arts and the West End Business Improvement Association (WEBIA) are partnering in the production of this weekly arts market. WEBIA and WE Arts have been working closely for the past 3 years in developing the arts vision and possibilities for animating the streets with arts. With over 20% of our West End community being artistically inclined it is high time for us to showcase the works of Vancouver’s most artful neighborhood.

Jim Deva Plaza: the new plaza on Bute Street to the south side of Davie Street is in celebration of local LGBTQ activist Jim Deva. Jim stood for inclusion, welcome, acceptance, expression, free speech, influencing not only the LGBTQ community here in Vancouver, nationally in Canada, and worldwide, but also human rights that benefit us all. WE Arts is proud to partner in this celebration of welcome, creativity and diversity for us all. The plaza will include a speakers corner, as every voice matters.

I look forward to hearing from you!!
