Invading the city
OpenART is Scandinavia’s biggest public art biennial, running for 12 weeks in Örebro, Sweden. Contemporary art from all over the world is temporarily exhibited in the urban space, transforming the city center into a giant art scene. The biennial challenges the visitors to rethink the perception of public space and our way of consuming and digesting art. The cultural exchange with the public is valued through several projects in connection to the exhibition like kids activities, a DIY art course and guided tours.
OpenART exhibits a wide range of art mediums and techniques for temporary display. We welcome fully developed artworks and ideas in the making.
Artists apply by following the instructions at openart.se.
The application period is 30 May – 2 Aug 2016. The 6th edition of OpenART will take place 18 June – 10 Sep 2017.
