Approaching Abstracts

Abstract art, as understood in the context of art history, began in the early 1900’s. Works and movements of this style tend to be poorly understood. If you have found yourself looking at an abstract grappling with questions and wondering if the work is good or bad, or have found yourself in the studio wondering how and where to start painting in abstract, the two days FCA workshop ‘Approaching Abstracts‘ with Nicoletta Baumeister, AFCA might be just exactly what you are looking for.  Students can expect to explore the definition of ‘abstract’ and use hands-on exercises to put the ideas that characterize this style into practice. Nicoletta will supply materials for students for the first day of the class and students are asked to bring their preferred medium to work in for the second day. This workshop is open to beginner, intermediate, advanced and even non-artist students. Click here to register now online.
